A fire extinguisher

 

A fire extinguisher is a fire protection device used to extinguish or control small fires, usually in an emergency situation. It cannot be used to extinguish a fire that is out of control, such as a fire with flames reaching the ceiling, the fire may pose a danger to the user (e.g. there are no emergency exits, smoe, risk of explosion..). Normally, a fire extinguisher is a hand-held cylindrical tank with a pressure valve, containing substances that can extinguishe fire.
